100% cotton, lightweight and breathable.
This fabric is part of our Shokunin Collection textile series. Dyed by hand in Tokyo by skilled artisans using traditional Chusen dyeing techniques.
Traditionally a Yukata (summer kimono) fabric, full bolts measure 38cm (14.9 inches) width x 12m length. Please be aware of the width before placing an order. A full bolt of 12m is enough to make a one Yukata. To make modern clothing, piece lengths together to make the width you need. The print on Chusen-dyed fabric can be seen on both sides so the fabric can be used on either side, and can be pieced together in various ways in order to create your desired pattern layout.
Width: 40cm (15.74″)
Care instructions :
Hand wash or machine wash in a net on a delicate cycle. Wash separately. Washing in cold water is recommended. Dry in the shade, do not tumble dry.
Chusen dyeing is specialized art form and requires a highly skilled artisan to perfect. Due to the hand-dyed nature of these fabrics there may be some irregularities, however these are not errors or misprints, rather a natural characteristic of Chusen dyed textiles. These textiles have a pattern repeat at approximately 100cm, and the following repeat is a mirror image of the previous.
